This person-centered treatment emphasizes collaboration toward understanding how habitual patterns of the mind contribute to suffering, and how to skillfully re-train the mind toward greater clarity and self-compassion.
JUDI TOTA, MS, LCAT
Mindfulness-based Counseling and Psychotherapy
Judi is a NYS Licensed Creative Arts Therapist who has over 25 years of experience working in hospitals and clinics. As a former multi-media artist, Judi appreciates this approach to therapy because it emphasizes skillful means and flexibility in response to meeting life problems, in the same way an artist problem-solves a piece of art.
In 1999, Judi began practicing the reflective arts of yoga and meditation. Experiencing the benefit of these practices to quiet the mind, and open the heart, Judi brings them into her work to enhance emotional intelligence and self-care skills.
Is Stress Overwhelming You?
Judi will help you develop the skills needed to cope with Life's challenges, and to feel more confident and connected to yourself and to those around you.
With over 25 years of experience helping people overcome personal difficulties, Judi has treated adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional trauma, and anger management. Utilizing a variety of mindfulness-based approaches and therapies, she helps clients achieve a more satisfying life, and guides them to develop greater self-awareness and most importantly: a healthier sense of self-compassion.
Her ability to empathize and to take a relaxed approach infuses each session with a steady support system, allowing her clients to feel accepted and safe, so they can learn more about their inner feelings and thoughts. Judi's aim is to help clients take the same calm, compassionate acceptance which she brings to her work into their own lives, better enabling them to develop those same healthy attitudes within. Clients will learn to take charge of their lives by deepening an understanding of their feelings, and will discover how to better care for themselves from the inside out. By making better choices, we begin to realize our own innate inner-power and worth.
